At the Annual Business Meeting on January 28, 2015, the congregation approved the use of additional funds from the Rejoice & Give Thanks capital campaign to refurbish the pianos in the Choir Room, Youth Choir Room, and Fellowship Hall.
Last fall, Dr. Bob Gallagher had formally approached the Music Committee with concerns over the conditions of these three older grand pianos, which were gifts to the church. The Music Committee recommended that a consultant be engaged to thoroughly examine the pianos and make recommendations for their refurbishment.
Using that report, Dr. Gallagher obtained contract proposals from suitable refurbishment technicians, and after examining the proposals and exploring the technicians’ qualifications, settled on a preferred contractor. The total amount for the repair work plus moving costs is anticipated to be approximately $57,600.
